ADAPTED FOR HANDS-ON LEARNING

Each book is designed to be printed, laminated, and assembled as an interactive adaptive book. Velcro is used for the movable pieces, allowing students to actively participate as they read and complete the activities.

These books can be used:

  • During individual instruction
  • In small groups
  • At literacy stations
  • During speech and language activities
  • For AAC and Core Vocabulary practice
  • For repeated reading
  • During farm-themed units
  • In special education and preschool classrooms
  • As part of inclusive early childhood instruction

PRINTING & ASSEMBLY

Each book should be printed in color, laminated, and bound using staples, a book binder, or clips.

To assemble the books, cut off the bottom portion of the pages except for the final page. This creates a space where the movable pieces can be stored and accessed easily throughout the book.

I have students read through the book twice. The first time, we place the pictures on the pages. The second time, students read the book and put the pictures back on the bottom storage page as they go. This provides repeated practice while keeping the interactive pieces organized and accessible.
